She for We

Hello all!
Soooo sorry that I have not posted in a while. I seriously hope to have some more content up and running on this blog!

In the mean while, please take the time to check out another blog that I just started called She for We. This blog is about abuse and I share personal accounts in my way of dealing with it in my relationship. It is a work in progress and I hope that it will inspire those who are in need of support to speak out.

Thank you and much love

Dear PB, you're only hurting yourself

Okay. Let’s face it. We have all put things off at one point another. Maybe you said that you were going to make reservations to a restaurant for a special occasion that was coming up. Or maybe you said you were going to apply for some awesome position that was just right up your alley. But then, you know, life happens… or so we say. Oh yeah, that week long marathon of the Walking Dead was totally a legit reason to put off applying to that life changing position that would pay you 3 times the amount your dead end job is shelling out. And as for those reservations? Shooo, they’ll have seats the night of. After all, it isn’t every day that your friend gives you their Golden Ticket to Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory!

Well guess what? By the time you finished ungluing your eyes from your program, the job posting has come down. And remember that restaurant that you were sure would have room come the night of the celebration? Yeeeeah… they are all booked. Congratulations! You successfully procrastinated; but that’s not all! You also failed to follow through completely.

Pity Party: A Dangerous Game

*Please forgive me.This was supposed to be posted 3 months ago, but it is still relevant. Happy Reading*

One thing that I absolutely cannot stand is a pity party. I don’t like throwing one for others and sure enough, I do not enjoy having one for myself. As a matter of fact, if I even think of muttering a complaint (not venting but full out “woe is me, life is so unfair” complaining), often times I find myself rebuking the thought. Why is that? Because complaining leads to self-pity and self-pity will kill your vibe and zap the energy of those who try to cater to this ridiculousness.

This may sound harsh, but after hearing about what happened in May with Isla Vista Killings, this just reaffirms my views on the topic at hand. Elliot Rodger, the murderer, was not only deeply disturbed but he was extremely unappreciative. He thought that he deserved everything but did not put in the work needed to get results. He truly thought that everything he desired should come his way. He did not sow but expected to reap in abundance. This poor mentality led him to wallow in his pity.
